Our Speech-Language Pathologist focuses on diagnosing and the treatment of speech and language issues, cognitive issues, swallowing disorders that arise from the aging process, complex diagnoses, and conditions. With a team approach between the Speech-Language Pathologist, dieticians, and nursing staff, the established swallowing and memory programs are encouraged and monitored. With the latest techniques, our speech language pathologist is able to help improve the quality of life of our residents.
Rouse Estate First to Offer VitalStim in Warren County, PA
The rehabilitation department is always looking for ways to improve patient care and quality of life. It is with the philosophy in mind that we have started providing VitalStim services for patients with oral-pharyngeal dysphasia. This service is provided by the Speech Language Pathologist. VitalStim is a non-invasive therapy that uses neuromuscular electrical stimulation to help re-educate the throat muscles needed for swallowing.
